For Immediate Release

Bradford, Vt. December 27, 2010.
Bear Ridge Speedway the best bang for your buck family entertainment.
Bear Ridge Speedway continues to be the best source of good inexpensive high quality entertainment for families, and 2011 will see it even better for the fans. The price of a general admission (front gate) ticket will remain the same as it has over the past decade for adults (ages 17 to 61) at $10.00 a person and children 11 and under $2.00. Teens 12 to 16 and seniors 62 and older will be able to enjoy the racing in 2011 at $8.00.
The price of the back gate (pit entrance) will also remain the same for Bear Ridge Speedway 2011 license holders and non license holders, but starting in 2011 we will be offering an additional incentive for competitors at other tracks and racing series to come check out what it is like to compete on the fastest 1/4 mile clay oval in Vermont. To get thru the back gate (pit gate) Bear Ridge Speedway 2011 license holders will get in for $10.00 and non license holders will get in for $20.00 (both of these prices are in addition to the front gate ticket and the same as they have been for over a decade now.) What will be added to the options at the back gate will be a rate of $15.00 for those competitors holding 2011 licenses from other tracks or racing series groups. We at the Ridge encourage everyone to get out and race, even if you don't call us your home track, but we also encourage you to come check out the Ridge, to see just how much fun it is. This will make it more affordable for that driver and crew to check out our facilities without having to pay the full Bear Ridge Speedway non member rate. (In order to be eligible for the Bear Ridge Speedway points fund, and recognized at the annual awards banquet, drivers will have to hold a 2011 Bear Ridge Speedway license and run on track designated tires as indicated in the rule book.)
You do the math, in today's economy you will be hard pressed to find entertainment that is perfect for the whole family at less than these rates. Racing is the number one spectator sport in the country with well over 750 dirt facilities running nationwide, so if you haven’t been up to the Ridge in awhile or at all why not check it out in 2011.
The kid's club will return in 2010 with added activities and prizes available exclusively to the elite members of the club. The price for membership will remain the same at only $2.00 per child. Once registered, kids will benefit in weekly free give aways, rides with their favorite drivers, pit tours, special autograph sessions and more, just by signing in each week after becoming a member.
As we continue to make your experience just what you are looking for, we are also working on ways to ensure that the show continues to end in a timely manner on a weekly basis.
Remember in today's society we could all use a little more family entertainment, and the Ridge is your best place to be for just that. The admission price is more than reasonable; the show top-notch, the food superior, and the family friendly atmosphere is just what you are looking for.
2011 driver and crew membership applications will be in the mail shortly and are now available on the website. Be sure to get yours sent in by March 1st for early return savings.
Bear Ridge Speedway is as an alcohol free family friendly entertainment spot, with our goal to make each experience to the Ridge better than the last.

99 rock championship night 9/11/10

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. September 11, 2010
The 99ROCK wfrd weekly racing series Championship night ended with forty years separating the first place and third place victory lane spots in the Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds division and fitting cap with new faces gracing victory lane in four of the five divisions and the best racing throughout the 2010 season on dirt in New England.
The Granite State Mini Sprints were on site for their last event of the 2010 season. Lacey Hanson in the 500 cc's came home the winner with Derek Eldridge the winner in the 600cc's.
Double points are on the line for championship night and the running order was run in the order of divisions with the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets, hitting the clay first. Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT is not going to claim his second title in a row in this division laying down, and this night proved to be no different. Placey having to pit early for a flat tire would come back and have to work his way to the front the hard way. Action was slowed by only one other caution on lap seventeen, which put Placey where he needed to be. In touch with the front of the pack Placey grabbed the lead from Michael Pittman #99 Corinth VT. Pittman with his best finish of the year was able to hold on to second with the third and final victory lane spot going to Mark Nickles #32 Piermont NH.
In the Journal Opinion Fast Fours Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct is of the same mind set as Placey, and also had a couple of other reasons to make his way to the front which is what he was able to do early in the race thanks in part to a restart. Sunn was able to hold off his contenders for the rest of the race, slowed only by one additional yellow to go on and claim his 80th win in his five year racing career. Sun's win also gave him the record of number of wins in one season at thirteen. Accompanying Sunn in victory lane were Tim Hodge #2 Vershire VT and Travis Hull #66 E Montpelier VT.
The A Notch Above Limited Late Models were awarded a semi feature and driver introductions due to their impressive car count. The points battle is a fairly tight one in this division with Tyler Stygles and Jeremy Hodge aggressively doing their best to knock Will Hull #61 E Montpelier VT from the top. Hull coming from mid pack diced his way to the front very early in the race and held off all competitors for each of the restarts to cruise on for his seventh win of the season. Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT would have to settle for the bridesmaid position with Jason Giguere #23 Lebanon NH making an impressive return appearance coming home in the third place spot.
In the Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes Mike McGinley #7 E Barre VT once again found himself in the coveted front row position for the start of the race and tonight he was able to capitalize on his good fortune survive the restarts and come home the winner. Behind McGinley the brother Piersons were the show to watch as they worked their way to the front of the pack by lap eight younger brother Melvin Pierson #33 E Corinth VT was in the second place with older brother Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT still working his way to the front in search of a victory lane spot. A restart late gave Gene the brake he needed putting him in sites of the third and final victory lane spot. That is how the three would cross the line at the checkers, with all three extremely happy, McGinley with his first win of the season, Melvin back in victory lane, and Gene doing what he needed to do for the points title.
The last division to hit the track for the regular 99ROCK weekly racing series were the earth pounding ground shaking heart throbbing Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds. As a promoter it is always gratifying to see new faces in victory lane, and for this division the two that made it encompassed both ends of the age bracket for competitors at the Ridge. Veteran driver Jack Cook #1nh Moultonboro NH set on the outside pole and was able to beat out the pole sitter to lead the first lap. Cook strong all year has never been able to capitalize on a good starting position, with a trip to victory lane, and new that time was running out, so if it was to be it would have to be tonight. Cook was ready to hold off the heat, and with track conditions to his liking he was able to hold off the competition and survive the restarts to sail on to his first win of the season, and first in too many years to count. Cook also a modest man, was forced to admit his age which happened to be just a mere 40 years older than the third place finisher and rookie points leader Justin Comes #51 Middlebury VT. Comes graduation from high school and just eighteen, so yes now we all know hold old Jack is, has had a great rookie season and was able to cap it off with his victory lane appearance. Claiming the middle spot in second place was last year's feature winner Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH .
The Weglarz Property Service and Excavation mind race leader award winners for Wells River Chevrolet night were:#42 Robert Tucker A Notch Above Limited Late Models and #7 Mike McGinley Wells River Chevrolet Coupes

Wells River Chevrolet Night

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. September 5, 2010
Wells River Chevrolet sponsored night was delayed for a brief shower, but that didn't dampen the excitement on this the third night from the end of the season.
Back in town for the event number two of their triple crown weekend were the WYKR sponsored at the Ridge Sprint Cars of New England. An early red for a wild ride by Tunk Berry for making contact with the front stretch wall and demolishing the car set the tone for what was not one of their better showings at the ridge as three cautions would continue to slow the pace on their main event. Surviving the restarts and dominating the field to claim the win was Danny Douville. Coming home in second was Floyd Billington, with third going to Kevin Chaffee.
The pace was only slowed once in the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets, but for pole sitter Mark Nickels #32 Piermont NH it didn't matter, as Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT just one lap before it waved would claim the lead. Placey sailed on for yet another win for the season with Nickels holding on for second. Third would once again be claimed by Brad Martin #34 Thomaston CT.
It was double point madness for the Journal Opinion Fast Fours with over fifteen hundred extra dollars on the line for the competitors. Triple fifteens were on the agenda and the first one was led by Travis Hull by virtue of bringing in the most laps sponsored. Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct would claim the pole spot from Hull on lap five and go on to claim the win for this segment with Tim Hodge #2 Vershire VT taking second and Kevin Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT third.
The second segment inverted from the first finish found Tim Martin on the pole and that is where he stayed from green to checkers. The caution free event made work a bit tougher for Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct to get to the front and the laps would run out before he could set a challenge on Martin. Sunn would cross the line in second with Tim Hodge #2 Vershire VT.
The third segment was led to the green by Andy Johnson, who would lead just past half way until Kevin Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT, the rest of the laps including the last would go to Harran as he claimed the third segment win. Finishing second was Tim Hodge #2 Vershire VT with third going to Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct.

As is the case in all the divisions, everyone wants to get either their first or one more win before the end of the season, and everyone wants to win the championship. With just two weeks to go, it is hoped that the true champions will shine thru at the end of the day. Unfortunately points can be frustrating when you are trying so hard to win that championship, and it seems most prevalent in the A Notch Above Limited Late Models. Several cautions would slow the pace for the field of cars for drivers just plain over driving and/or getting frustrated. Robert Tucker #42 would have to survive too many cautions from the point, but tonight he was up to the challenge. When the checkers finally waved it was Tucker for the win. Coming home in second was Ray Johnson #79 and third would go to Jeremy Stygles #17. Will Hull your current points leader found himself at the wrong end of the stick once again with most of the sheet metal ripped off the front end of his car, at no fault of his own. Hull was able to keep the car going but would only be able to bring home a sixth place finish.
In the Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes Mike McGinley found himself in the coveted pole position for the start of the race and was able to hold on to the point until just past halfway. A restart bobble by McGinley would cost him the point and ready to take his place was Josh Harrington #3 Topsham VT who never looked back for the second half of the race taking home the checkers. Joining Harrington in victory lane for a history making top three were stable cars, all owned by Harrington, Jason Horniak #3 Bradford VT and Chris Carbee #5 So Rygate VT in second and third.
The most important lap to lead in a race is of course the last lap, and in the 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds Bryan King is still looking to lead that last lap. King was able to hold on until just past half way when a caution found Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH just behind King on the restart and ready to pounce. Siemons took the lead and checked out on the field for the rest of the event. Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT your current points leader was able to make his way up to second with Kevin Chaffee #7 Orange VT coming home in third.

Sabil & Sons night

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. August 29, 2010
Sabil & Sons Old Timers Night afforded fans a full field of antique cars as well as full fields of cars of today, with plenty the best quarter mile clay oval racing in New England Saturday Night at the Ridge.
Visiting for their fourth annual event, were the "Old Timers" with over 16 cars on hand for the fans to see. Not only could you get up close and personal, but the fans were able to watch the machines of yester year take to the track for some "fast paced" hot laps. The #3 machine of Bother Eastman recently restored was there for all to see, and Brother himself was able to take the machine around the track in what was an emotional trip down memory lane for all. This event has grown over the past four years and Sabil & Sons and Bear Ridge Speedway are excited to see what the next four years will bring.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets some lessons could be learned by the other division points battlers from Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT who continues to dominate the field each week, which is helping him to secure his second championship at the Ridge. While it "ain't over till it's over" if Placey continues on at his present pace, he will be the one to claim the crown. Placey starting in eleventh claimed the lead on lap thirteen and never looked back. Coming with him for the ride was Eric Lang #66 Groton VT and Brad Martin #34 Thomaston CT coming home second and third.
New faces continue to roll in in the Journal Opinion Fast Fours making competition a bit tougher for Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct, but Sunn like Placey is up for the challenge. Sunn capitalized on the yellow flag to work his way thru traffic and by lap seven on the final restart, take the lead from Brandon Lemere #1 Lebanon NH and never look back. Lemere was able to hold on for second, making it his second trip in a row to victory lane with Kevin Harran #57 St Johnsbury Ctr VT coming home in third.
In the 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models it was nice to see the current points leader finally get the monkey off his back, which had been there of late. Will Hull #61 E Montpelier VT earlier in the year was sitting on a rather large points lead and during the middle part of the season watched that point lead virtually disappear. Hull was able to get the lead on the field early and looked strong as he sailed on to victory lane to claim the checkers over Jason Blake #07 Moretown VT and Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT.
In the Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes Melvin Pierson was hoping that if it could happen for Hull that it could happen for him as well. Pierson trying desperately to reclaim the points lead from brother Gene, would once again see his night go away as he was caught up in yet another altercation with some of his competitors. Shane Race #22 Vershire VT was focusing on his own goals with a Triple Crown on the line if he could cross the line first. Race took the lead from Jeremy Beckley on lap eleven and was dominate until lap twenty two when Josh Harrington #3 Topsham VT said sorry not today, taking the lead and going on for the win. Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT was tight on Harrington's heals and was able to follow him landing in the second place spot. Race was able to hold on to the third and final victory lane spot.
The 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds are seeing some of the toughest Rookie competition to hit the track in years. Six drivers are competing for the rookie honors and all six are lined up behind one another in the points standings. The current Rookie leader Justin Comes gave up the lead to Jason Gray on lap ten who was only able to hold on for three laps before Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT working on the outside made the move in two for the lead and made it stick. It was all Pierson from that point on with the battle ensuing for the final two victory lane spots. Gray's machine wasn't quite up to snuff this night and by the time the checkers waved, he watched as three other made it past him with Kevin Chaffee #7 Orange VT claiming the runner up stop with only a handful of laps to go. Wayne Stearns #1D Bradford VT in his second appearance in 2010 also made it by to claim the third and final victory lane spot.

Swenson Insurance night

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. August 22, 2010
Swenson Insurance, Bradford Bull Dogs Benefit night provided some of the best quarter mile clay oval racing in New England Saturday Night at the Ridge.
Visiting for their final points race of the season was the WYKR Bear Ridge Speedway Sponsored SCoNE machines with seventeen machines on hand to qualify for the sixteen feature positions. While the beginning was a bit rough going, an unusual characteristic for SCoNE, once they settled down, it was plenty of edge of your seat racing excitement for the fans. Bringing home the checkers and claiming the points title was Chris Donnelly #20 Orford, NH. Following Donnelly to victory lane, after going for a wild ride early bringing out a red flag as he lay on his side, was Dan Douville #7x Bridgewater NH, third was claimed by Shawn Lawler #18L Mason NH.
With only four weeks left to the 2010 season the points battles in all divisions are heating up, and with the racing excitement on the track.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets while Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT pretty much can claim the crown, he continues to show up every week to do his best, to win. Placey weekly starts from back of the pack and works his way to the front to make yet another trip to victory. Lane. This night would be no exception as Placey was able to claim the top spot on lap seventeen and go for the win. Brad Martin #34 leading the first 16 laps of the race was able to hold on to third place, having lost the runner up position to Jessie Smith #8 Topsham VT who slid past him right behind Placey.
With over 100 cars in the pits, every division saw increased car counts and the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours were no exception. Josh Connors #16 pretty much found himself in the same position as Brad Martin in the hornets leading the pack and looking poised to getting his first win of the season, but new comers Travis Hall #66 Graniteville VT brother of Limited Late Model Will Hull in only his first visit to the Ridge and first time on the dirt thinks he might like it, as he was able to slide his way to the front and come home the winner at the end of the night. Following him in second was Brandon Lemere #1 Lebanon NH, another first timer to the Ridge, with Connors holding on to the final victory lane spot.
Brother Will Hull in the 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models has been unable to get the bad luck gremlin of luck lately off his back, and it was hoped that for his 29th birthday, that his luck just might change. Unfortunately that would not be the case as Hull once again found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time collected up in a spin in turns one and two which put him in the pits for the remainder of the night. It seemed for the pole sitters that while they did all the hard work to maintain the lead thru three quarters of the race, they were unable to make it to the checkers first, as was true for Jason Blake #07 who saw his attempt at his first win slip from his hands on lap sixteen when Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT sailed by him and went on for the win. Blake would spin out on the last lap and finish last which opened up second place to Troy Comeau #89 Rumney NH and third to be claimed by TC Forward #14 Lyme NH.
The tightest points battle of the season is coming down to two brothers as the Pierson boys sit with only a two point separation in the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes. Brother Gene's 6 point lead over Melvin has closed to 2 points with Melvin Pierson #33 E Corinth VT third place finish. Claiming the checkers was Josh Harrington #3 Topsham VT who took the lead away from Brian King on lap 18. King would slide back out of the top three, leaving the runner up spot to Chris Carbee #5 So Ryegate VT
The 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds saw Danny Eastman #3 Thetford Ctr VT set on pole, dominate the field, and survive five restarts to claim the win. The battle for the runner up and third place victory lane spots was a hard fought one with Derek Graham #10 Woodsville VT doing most of the battle. Graham first had to hold off the hard fought challenges of Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH but by lap fifteen would see his hold on the runner up spot slip away. His next contender was Adam Pierson, who managed to get by Graham, but only for a brief moment before Graham was able to reclaim the spot. Pierson would fall one spot short of victory lane, as he watched Graham cross the line ahead of him in third.
The Weglarz Property Service and Excavation mind race leader award winners for Perry's Oil Service night were:#57 Kevin Harran in the Journal Opinion Fast Fours and #1nh Jack Cook in the Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds.

John Poor Memorial sponsored by Walker Motors

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. August 16, 2010
John Poor was smiling down on the packed stands and full field of cars at Bear Ridge Speedway Saturday night for the Walker Motor Sales John Poor Memorial Night.
Once again the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets put on a whale of a show for the fans. Mark Nickles almost made it to half way before being over taken by Jessie Smith who only survived a short stint up front before being over taken by Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT on lap thirteen. Placey continues to be the class of the field, starting from the back of the field each week, he is able to take advantage of any cautions waved to regroup the field, and work his way methodically to the front. Picking a ride up along the way was Bobby Lee Bell #24 St. Johnsbury VT who was able to make to the third victory lane spot. Jessie Smith #8 Topsham VT was able to hold on to second.
It was another new face behind the checkers for the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours. Josh Connors brought the field to the green, but by lap five would see his hopes of a first win going out the window as Kevin Harran #57 St Johnsbury Ctr VT worked his way by him, and was able to hold off the hard fought challenges of Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT for his first win of the season. Sunn brought home the third place trophy with Josh Connors #16 holding on for the second place spot.
The 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models once again came to the table with double digits in their car count. The continued increase in competitors in this division is offering for some exciting racing for the fans. Troy Comeau #89 Rumney NH claimed the lead by the end of the first lap, but was only able to hold on to it for a couple of alps before Jeremy Stygles #17 Bradford VT claimed the lead. Stygles was able to hold off the challenges of your points leader who would end up pit side, and cruise on for his fifth win of the season. Comeau was able to make it home in second with Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT coming home in third.
It was madness night for the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes with a record one hundred eleven laps being sponsored and an extra three thousand three hundred thirty dollars on the line. Keeping with the threes, three twenty lap segments were run with the first one being brought to the green by Jeremy Beckley with his sponsored eighteen laps. Beckley kept the pole position until lap twelve when he was over taken by Melvin Pierson #33 E Corinth VT. Pierson was able to bring home the checkers on this segment with Jason Horniak #3 Bradford VT coming home in second and Chris Carbee #5 So Ryegate VT in third.
The second segment start was inverted from the first segment on track finish with Buster Kathan bringing the field to the green. By lap eight Shane Race #22 Strafford VT had claimed the lead and was able to hold on to it until the lap that counts the most. Josh Harrington #71 Topsham VT would steal the win of segment two from Race who held on for second with Robert Tucker #48 E Corinth VT coming home in third.
The start for segment three was determined once again by the finishing order of segment two with Jeremy Beckley on point. This time the spot would be lost quickly to Steve Bell who was able to hold on until Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT claimed it at half way. Pierson set sail on Bell and cruised on the claim the win for this segment. Following Pierson in second was Chris Carbee #5 So Ryegate VT with Josh Harrington #71 Topsham VT coming home in third.
The overall finish, a combination of the three segments, put Josh Harrington #71 Topsham VT in first, Chris Carbee #5 So Ryegate VT, and Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT in third.
Tonight was a very special night for the fans, competitors, workers and promoters of Bear Ridge Speedway with the first annual John Poor Memorial Race sponsored by Walker Motors taking place. John Poor, best friend and crew chief of owner/promoter C.V. Butch Elms and assistant flag man at the Ridge for over fifteen years was taken from us just a few weeks before the season opened in 2010. With John always present in our hearts and his family and friends present, we wanted to do something special in honor and memory of John. Being Butch's crew chief while driving the mod, it was decided that the 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds would be the ones to do this for the fans. The feature was set for thirty laps, and from the racing excitement provided, it was very clear that being on the pole at the end was an important feat to accomplish for all. It looked like Jack Cook #1nh Moultonboro NH was going to be the lucky one to cross the line first, but of course the very talented Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT had different ideas in mind. Pierson was able to work his way to the front and on lap seventeen claim the point from Cook. On lap twenty nine the white flag was waved on Pierson with Jim Morgan #17 Woodstock VT second and Cook in third. As they turned the bend in turn two the complete field slowed and exited off the back stretch leaving the track, final lap, and waving of the checkers to John Poor. For those of us who still hold John deer to our hearts it was an emotional moment, and the I personally wish to extend a huge thank you to the field, who did what we wanted perfectly. John Poor always in our hearts will be behind every checkers waved at the Ridge and never forgotten.
The Weglarz Property Service and Excavation mind race leader award winners for Perry's Oil Service night were:#34 Brad Martin KDD NAPA of Bradford Ridge Runner Hornets and #06 Jeffrey Elliott in the Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds.

Bradford, Vt. August 8, 2010
There was something for everyone on the Interstate Battery of Newmont and JTB Towing and Recovery sponsored night at Bear Ridge Speedway with antique tractors, spectator drags, ACOT, and Phil Scott VT State Senator behind the wheel of a Sportsman Modified.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets tires were the theme this night with several guys experiencing flats and some loosing the wheel all together. By lap sixteen Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT had worked his way to the front keeping all four tires on and round and went on to take home the win. Following Placey in second was Mike Ryan #86 Chelsea VT with the third and final victory lane spot going to Don Reynolds #87 Springfield VT with his second best finish of the season.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours it seems that Tim Hodge #2 Vershire VT is the man to beat of late. The first half of the year was all Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT but the second half is being domiated by Hodge, who was able to get to the front in record time and cruise on for his third win of the season. Sunn was able to work his way up to second but would run out of laps before being able to set any challenge on Hodge. The third and final victory lane spot was claimed by Kevin Harran #57 St Johnsbury Ctr VT.
The 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models finally got it all tonight, with enough cars to have their first semi of the year and driver introductions afforded those on hand to compete. TC Forward #14 Lyme NH finished one position short in his heat race from winning the triple crown, bringing home the checkers in the semi and able to distance himself from the rest of field in the main event to cruise in for the win. Troy Comeau #89 Rumney NH was able to make it home in second with Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT coming home in third.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes Melvin Pierson #33 East Corinth VT has finally gotten the monkey off his back. After a couple of cautions early on for a wild ride by Robert Tucker who rolled his machine in mid air in turn two landing on all four wheels, brother Melvin coming from mid pack took the lead half way thru the race and held off brother Gene for the win. Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT was unable to set any serious challenge on bother Melvin and would settle for the runner up spot this night. Coming home in the third and final victory lane spot was Shane Race #22 Strafford VT.
The 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds saw Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT strut his stuff, as he did it the hard way, working from the back of the pack to claim the lead with 3 to go from Jeffrey Elliott #06 Benton NH who started on pole and go on for the win. Elliott by virtue of the sole pole position restarts was able to service the cautions only to see Pierson fly by. Elliott was able to hold on to second for his best finish of the season, with Jack Cook #1nh Moultonboro NH coming home in third.
Melissa King #99 E Corinth VT continues to dominate the Hornet Queens coming home with yet another win. The second place spot was claimed by Marissa Osgood with the third and final victory lane spot going to Misty Bell.

Bradford, Vt. August 1, 2010
The Perry's Oil Service sponsored night at Bear Ridge Speedway offered plenty of hot racing excitement with new and old faces making it to victory lane.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets a new face made its way to the front of the pack. When Jesse Smith #8 Topsham VT took the lead away from Brad Martin #34 Thomaston CT just before half way and held off the hard fought challenges of Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT on the final lap to claim his first win of the season. Placey coming from deep in the pack would have to settle for the runner up position with Martin holding on to third.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours Tim Hodge #2 made a last lap charge and took the lead away from Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT to go on for his second win in as many weeks. Coming home in the final victory lane spot for his first victory lane visit of the season was Robert Tilden #14 E Thetford VT.
The 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models continue to see car counts on the increase and continued great racing excitement for all to see. Coming from the third place spot Jeremy Hodge was able to get to the front and go on to take the checkers for his fourth time this season. Troy Comeau #89 Rumney NH in his second trip to the Ridge this season, has made it two for two on his trips to victory lane, making his way from mid pack to claim the second place spot. The third and final victory lane spot went to TC Forward #14 Lyme NH.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes the points battle has become an intense one with not one but two Pierson brothers at the top vying for the crown. Melvin Pierson has been at the top of the heap for a while now, but a ride off the track on the hook saw his points lead go by the wayside to no one other than his brother, who not only took the top of the heap for this week, but did it the hard way on the outside as he worked his way to the front of the pack to take the lead from Jason Horniak #3 Bradford VT. Horniak was able to hold on to second, with Gene Pierson #44 Corinth VT taking home the checkers. The third and final victory lane spot was claimed by Josh Harrington #71 Topsham VT.
The 99ROCk weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds found a new face in victory lane. Well new to this division, but not new to the Ridge, it seems for some that winning is like riding a bike, you never forget and after only five weeks Jim Morgan #17 Woodstock VT to remind the rest of the contenders that he does know his way around the track coming home the winner when the checkers waved. Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH was unable to set any serious challenge to Morgan and would have to settle for the bridesmaid position this week. Siemons sat in third for several laps, but a late race bobble by Derek Graham #10 Woodsville NH gave Siemons the brake he needed to get to the runner up spot. Graham a Rookie in the Modifieds, and the this his first season being in a race car was able to hold off the hard fought challenges of Jason Gray to make it to victory lane in the third place spot for the second time this year.
The Hornet Queens were on hand for their makeup race from the J&A Lawncare and Boudreault Septic night, and once again Melissa King #99 E Corinth VT was able to take the lead and go on for the win over Kelly Marshia #86 and Donna Racine #24. The Queens will be back again this Saturday night for their regular scheduled event.
The Weglarz Property Service and Excavation mind race leader award winners for J&A Lawncare Boudreault Septic night were:#07 Jason Blake in the A Notch Above Limited Late Models.

J&A Lawn Care & Boudreault Septic

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. July 25, 2010
The 99ROCK weekly racing series saw heavy rain and an hour plus delay before racing could resume, but the delay was worth it, as it made for some of the best racing of the season Saturday night at the Bear Ridge Speedway sponsored by J&A Lawn Care and Boudreault Septic.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets it was madness night with 86 laps sponsored for the field. It looked to be an easy overall win for Thomas Placey who dominated the first two segments, but an incident in the final segment saw Placey's hopes of winning go out the door. The third segment would be claimed by Eric Lang who made it by Scott Keithan with three to go. When the finishes were combined the final top five would be Eric Lang #66 Groton VT, Bobby Bell #24 St. Johnsbury VT, Mike Ryan #86 Chelsea VT, Michael Pittman #99 Corinth VT, and Jesse Smith #8 Topsham VT.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours Tim Hodge #2 had to work several laps before being able to get by Josh Connors #16 for the lead, and from there was able to do what no man has been able to do during the 2010 season, yes, to beat Josh Sunn to the checkers to claim his first win of the season. Mark Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT crossed the line behind Hodge for second, with Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT able to come from the back with three laps to go to claim the final victory lane spot.
For the 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models it was double digits for the field, with several new faces prepared to do battle on the 1/4 mile clay oval. Jason Blake #07 Moretown VT got the jump on the start and looked poised to claim his first win of the season but a last lap bobble found Will Hull #61 E Montpelier VT right where we wanted to be in a spot to take the lead, and that is just what he did, and held on for the win. Blake held on for second with Troy Comeau #89 Rumney NH coming home in third.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes they managed to cut down their caution fetish of late getting in their 20 laps with only 3 yellows slowing the pace. Dwight Burgoyne #03 Rindge NH by virtue of the three week average found himself sitting on the pole, and was able to survive the three cautions and hold off the pack for his first win of the season. Coming home in second was Chris Carbee #5 So Rygate VT, with Steve Ellsworth #21 Corinth VT in third.
It was the final Gravco Janitorial and Jasper Engines Twin State Series Event and the second biggest field, 17 strong, both at the Ridge, was on hand to try to claim the win and set a challenge against Kevin Chaffee #73 Orange VT who went in the night as the points leader. Unfortunately for all Chaffee would get to the lead early and with only one caution to slow the pace, it was virtually impossible for anyone to set a true challenge at catching him. Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH had to make it to victory lane the hard way picking off cars starting from mid pack. The extra laps were not enough and Siemons was only able to make it up to second. Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT would have to work even harder to get to the top three coming from next to last, and by lap 30 he had made it to third, which would be as far as he would get this night, but happy just the same. A post race inspection of weight, tires, carbonator spacer, distributor, Headers, and Harmonic Balancer found all cars passing, with the final finish standing.
The Weglarz Property Service and Excavation mind race leader award winners for Mekkelsen RV mid season champion ship night were:#2 Tim Hodge in the Journal Opinion Fast Fours and #44 Gene Pierson in the Wells River Chevrolet Coupes.

mid season champs crowned 7-17-10 on Mekkelsen RV night

For Immediate Release contact brsdirt@charter.net
Bradford, Vt. July 18, 2010
The 99ROCK weekly racing series midseason championship night offered great racing for the fans on Mekkelsen RV night at the Bear Ridge Speedway.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT took the lead on lap four, and cruised on to claim his third win of the season, helping to solidify his points lead. Following Placey was Eric Lang #66 Groton VT, with his third runner up position in a row. The final victory lane spot would be filled with a first time visitor in 2010 Scott Keithan #57
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT actually had to work for this week's win, as it came down to the final lap and the final turn before he was able to claim the lead. Sunn only led the one lap in this event, beating Tim Hodge #2. Mark Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT still looking for his first win would cross the line in third.
The 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models main event was slowed by only one caution, which was of no help to the field as they worked to catch Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT. Following Stygles in second was Will Hull #61 E Montpelier VT and Jason Blake #07 Moretown VT in third.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes the cautions continue to plague this division, as they just can't seem to get it together. Their event would be slowed with a record 9 cautions and when the dust finally settled the lucky man on top was Shane Race #22 Strafford VT. Working him hard and the two swapping the lead for several laps was Jeremy Stygles #68 Bradford VT who would have to settle for the runner up spot. The final victory lane spot was claimed by Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT.
It was a history making night for one lucky driver in the 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds. Every driver hopes to achieve the coveted triple crown at the Ridge, by winning their head race, semi feature, and main event. Before tonight none have had the honors of claiming one this year. This would all change when the checkers waved on the main event with Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT crossing the line first. This is Pierson's first triple crown in his career, and he was beaming from ear to ear in victory lane. Accompanying Pierson to the top of the pack was Jason Gray #00 E Thetford VT in second and Danny Eastman #3 Thetford Ctr VT in third.
The Granite State Mini Sprints were in town once again. The top three in the 600cc were: #75 , #37 , #11 . The top three in the 500cc were: #33 Lacey , #05 , #6 .

Trust us, it may be raining where you are, but chances are we are still racing. Mother Nature has not won yet!

Another great night of racing has been recorded in the record books at Bear Ridge Speedway on David's House Benefit night sponsored by Dennis Preston Builder.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT had found his grove and is setting sail on the field with yet another win to add to his record book. Placey starting deep in the pack was able to work his way thru traffic and just past half way claim the lead to score the win at the end. Following Placey was Eric Lang #66 Groton VT, who has quickly figured out his way around the Ridge making this his fourth trip to victory lane this season. Filling the final victory lane spot was Jessie Smith #8 your current rookie points leader.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours it continues to be all Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT, who has claimed his eighth win of the season. Unable to get the break they need but accompanying Sunn once again to victory lane in reverse order from last week were Andy Johnson #25 Wilder VT and Mark Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT in second and in third.
The 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models had better luck this week in ending the race with as many as they started with. Tonight Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT was hot, taking the lead on lap one and cruising to the victory. Following Stygles in second was Jeremy Hodge #17 Newbury VT and Will Hull #61 E Montpelier VT your current points leader in third.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes the full fields of cars with several of the contenders being rookies is proving challenging at times for some of the veteran drivers. Several cautions slowed the pace of which Steve Bell was able to survive and maintain the lead until late in the race, when he would bauble and Steve Ellsworth #21 Corinth VT was there to make the move, taking the lead. Ellsworth remembering the last time he was in the position made sure to stay awake and cruised on to claim his first win of the season. Making his way back to victory lane after a rough week last week was Bryan King #X E Corinth VT and rookie Jeremy Stygles #68 Bradford VT.
The 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds saw a new face in victory lane this week. Bradford, Vt. July 4, 2010
Fireworks were everywhere Saturday night at the Bear Ridge Speedway for The Home Depot and Noise 'R' Us Fireworks sponsored night.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets victory lane was filled with old and new faces, as Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT working from the back took advantage of the couple of cautions that waved and made his way to the front to claim another win. Coming home in second was last week's feature winner Eric Lang #66 Groton VT. Last year's Rookie of the year, has had a rough go of it so far this year, but it appears that for now the monkey may be gone from Don Reynolds #87 Springfield VT as he came home with his best finish yet in the final victory lane spot third.
In the 99ROCK weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours the man to beat continues to be Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT. Sunn once again crossed the line in first claiming yet another win with Mark Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT in second and Andy Johnson #25 Wilder VT in third.
It was Madness night for the 99Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models and while the fields may be small some weeks, tonight the field and the laps were big. 52 laps were brought in for the twelve machines for their event which turned into three seventeen lap segments. A lost radiator would take Tyler Stygles out of contention for segment one. Leaving Will Hull to claim the first segment. Segment two would see Will Hull leaving on the hook and the door open for Jeremy Hodge to claim the win. All three were back for the third and final segment, which was claimed by Tyler Stygles. The overall top three were Jeremy Hodge #17 Newbury VT, TC Forward #14 Lyme NH and Robbie Williams #7.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet B Coupes Gene Pierson #44 E Corinth VT continues to set sail on the rest of the field coming home to claim his second victory in as many weeks. This division is seeing full field car counts, and with it more competition on hand for all who compete. Being able to make it victory lane is the goal of all, and when you make it, it always feels good. While others are finding it frustrating at times. Pierson was happy to be at the front end of Victory lane with Shane Race #22 Strafford VT in second and brother Melvin Pierson #33 E Corinth VT in third.
The 99ROCK weekly racing series the Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds Adam Pierson #15 Fairlee VT wasn’t about to let dad and uncle have all the glory for the night and was able to get to the front to claim the win. Coming home in second with his best finish of the year for the youngest driver in this division was #51 Justin Comes Middlebury VT, claiming the final victory lane spot was Brian King #X Corinth VT.
