Bear Ridge Press Wells River Savings Bank Night

Bear Ridge Speedway continues to see increased car counts offering great racing excitement for the dedicated fans with some of the best short track dirt racing in New England, once again this past Saturday night for 99ROCK weekly racing series sponsored by Wells River Saving Bank.
In the KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets it was Carl Sheldon’s turn to put the fans on the edge of their seats, when he rolled his car pulling the red flag. Sheldon was a-okay when the dust settled. The drivers on the move when racing resumed would be the two who are continuing to do battle for the points lead in 200. Bobby Bell #24 St Johnsbury VT and Tom Placey #22 Bradford VT find themselves working from the back of the field each week for their quest at a victory lane spot, and once again this week did not disappoint the fans with their persistence getting them there. Placey would be the one to cross first with Bell following him and second, with third place going to Steve Sheldon #19x St. Johnsbury VT
The Blackmount Equipment sponsored Semi Feature was won by Bobby Lee Bell #24 St Johnsbury VT with Tom Placey #22 Bradford VT coming home in second and Mark Harran #4 St Johnsbury VT in third.
For the Journal Opinion Fast Fours Josh Sunn #11 White River Jct VT was back in town, and made sure everyone knew it. When the checkers waved on this event after a couple of cautions Sunn was scored across the line first with Steve Bell #10 St Johnsbury VT coming home in second and Kevin Harran #57 St Johnsbury VT finishing in third.
In the A Notch Above Limited Late Models Danny Eastman #8 Thetford Center VT is beginning to feel the competition as his fellow competitors get more familiar with the track and their machines and as more competitors show up weekly in this division. While Eastman would claim the checkers, it would come without hard work with Will Hull #61 E Montpelier VT making him work for it, claiming the runner up spot. The third position was claimed by Shane Race #22.
In the Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes Bryan King #X E Corinth VT and Josh Harrington #71 E Topsham VT would do battle for the checkers, with Harrington once again proving the dominate one coming home in first with King in second. Third place would be claimed by the Josh Harrington machine being driven by Rookie Jason Horniak #3 Bradford VT.
In the BOND Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds the reigning points champion has not been having the best of times the first half of the season, having only made it to victory lane before this night once so far. This night will hopefully be the turning point for Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH who having started on the pole was able to hold off the hard fought charges of it Chris Donnelly #17 Orford NH who came from the back of the pack, and Wayne Stearns #1d Thetford Ctr VT.
