Bradford, Vt. June 20, 2010
It was a wild night at Vermont's Fastest dirt track in New England for the 99Rock weekly racing divisions sponsored by Bradford Jiffy Mart & P&H Truck Stop at Bear Ridge Speedway with some new faces making their way to victory lane.
For the 99ROCK weekly racing series Bond Auto Parts Sportsman Modifieds, two sets of points were on the line for the full field of machines who set to the dirt. Regular track points plus points for the second segment of the GRAVCO JANITORIAL – JASPER ENGINES Sportsman Modified Twin State Series. Jason Gray #00 E Thetford VT thru the luck of a redraw from qualifying was able to survive several cautions, due to dust, rain, and driving incidents and come home in victory lane in the coveted first place position. Gray never looked back at the goings on behind him, only focusing on the win, which he gladly claimed after forty laps. Making it to victory lane along with Gray were Travis Shinn #11 Rumney NH in second and Gary Siemons #5 Orford NH who came from the back more than once in third. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Avery and Mike Dunn. While everyone made it thru post race inspection several fines and penalties are being issued for after race altercations.
For the 99 Rock weekly racing series Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes last year's track champion has struggled to make it back to the top which is where he got used to being in 2009. Josh Harrington #71 Topsham VT was able to take advantage of his mid race starting position working his way to the front to claim his second win of the season. Bryan King #X Corinth VT is truly the driver on a role in this division coming back from his win last week to cross the line in second. The third and final victory lane spot was claimed by your current points leader Melvin Pierson #33 E Corinth VT.
For the 99 Rock weekly racing series A Notch Above Limited Late Models #61 Will Hull E. Montpelier VT took the lead early and cruised to his third win of the season. Chasing him down, but running out of time to challenge for the win was Tyler Stygles #50 Bradford VT who came home in second. The third place victory lane spot was claimed by Jason Greene #23 Lebanon NH with his best finish of the season,
In the 99 Rock weekly racing series Journal Opinion Fast Fours #11 Josh Sunn White River Jct VT continues to dominate the field, and was able to make it even easier this week when Mark Harran lost his second place spot due to a spin and found himself out of the victory lane trio positions. Beating him to the marks were #25 Andy Johnson Wilder VT coming home in second, and Josh Connors #16 White River Jct VT with his best finish in third.
In the 99 Rock weekly racing series KDD NAPA Ridge Runner Hornets Thomas Placey #22 Bradford VT is back on top as he came from deep in the pack to make his way to the front of the field for his third win of the season.
